HEALTHCONSULTA® Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy. The primary purpose of this privacy policy is to protect the right of our users to privacy and to ensure the proper processing and handling of data belonging to all our users — doctors and patients alike.
The use of HEALTHCONSULTA® shall be governed by the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines. It is understood that, by using our services, you have acknowledged the privacy policy as herein stipulated and hereby authorized HEALTHCONSULTA® to use the information that you provide.
Any disputes that may arise shall be subject to Philippine laws. The doctors and other health professionals that are practicing their specializations through this system are operating under the same regulations and policies under the Philippine laws.
The following terms are defined in this privacy policy:
A. "Information" refers to the gathered facts and data indicating a particular subject.
B. "Service" refers to HEALTHCONSULTA®, a module used to facilitate access between you, as user or patient, and a health professional.
C. "Processing", as defined in the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines, refers to any operation or set of operations performed on information, such as, but not limited to, collection, storing, organization, recording, updating or modification, retrieval, consultation, use, consolidation, blocking, erasure, loss, or destruction of data.
D. "User" refers to any party or individual who is employing the app for personal or commercial purposes, which may be, but is not limited to, health professionals and patients. Terms such as "doctor," "patient," or "health professional" will be otherwise indicated in the policy to avoid ambiguity of the term "user".
Our privacy policy constitutes the guidelines and regulations in terms of how HEALTHCONSULTA® processes the information. If you disagree with the privacy policy, you may discontinue the use of our service.
This privacy policy is subject to modification or amendments. We will inform you through the contact information that you provided if there is any significant change to this privacy policy. If you do not agree to the new amendments as indicated in this policy, you have the right to opt out of your account and discontinue using the system.
What is the data that we will process from you as a user?
● Registration: Creating a profile requires the user to input his/her personal data such as name, phone number, home address, work address, medical history/experience, etc. If you register as a doctor or health professional, among the information required to process your account is your name, contact information, medical specialization, work address, and other relevant information you wish to add in your profile. If you register as a patient, the following information shall be required from you: your name, phone number, email address, birthday, medical history and diagnosis.
● Appointment setup: To schedule an appointment with a doctor, contact information such as the name and email address shall be required from the patient.
● User-generated content: By uploading attachments, users permit HEALTHCONSULTA® to process the information uploaded to the server. HEALTHCONSULTA® is not fully responsible for the loss or destruction of such uploaded information.
● Billing and fees: Scheduling appointment with doctors incurs charges. Patients will be required to input their payment information such as their debit card or credit card details to confirm orders within the HEALTHCONSULTA® system. The user must provide the complete and accurate billing and contact information.
● Device use and log data: Given that HEALTHCONSULTA® is an online-based platform, information such as IP address, settings, and device used maybe necessary to provide optimal user experience. Any problem detected within our system will be generated in a debug log report.
How do we process user's data?
● The personal data of patients shall only be used for purposes of medical diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions.
● The email address of patients and doctors shall be used to facilitate communication between the users. Doctors can send messages, reports, and prescriptions through email. A Zoom meeting ID may be sent for medical appointments.
● Invoices may be sent through the registered billing address or through email.
